When I first received an invitation to the Vintazia Friday Night Vintage Fair, I have to say I was somewhat intrigued. A vintage fair? On a Friday night you say? In a 17th century barn?! How unusual!
Being subject to the odd bout of severe party animalitis, I was initially a tad dubious about spending a Friday night browsing vintage treasures. At the end of a long week, sometimes a girl just needs to let her hair down. Or, thanks to the lovely Beauty Queens at the Vintazia Fair, put your hair up in an ever so glamorous vintage-inspired up-do. Because what I hadn’t anticipated was what a wonderful evening I would have, and actually what a brilliant precursor the experience is to a night on the tiles – or what a lovely evening it is in itself!

Sarah of Bowbelle Jewellery (it's worth going to the fair for her boyfriend's choccy brownies alone!)
I have attended many a vintage fair, and I have to confess, in my experience thus far, no fair has been quite so welcoming. Browsing the stalls and nattering away to the vintage dealers (most importantly with a pint of Pimms in hand – no point doing things by halves!) I could not have been a happier bunny. There was a large variety of vintage clothing and accessories, with entertainment provided by the incredible Polka Dot Dolls and delightful cupcakes by Kiss my Cake. The enormous barn left you feeling you had plenty of space to browse without having to get the elbows out.
I ended up buying a Frank Usher sequined tee with absolutely ENORMOUS shoulder pads. I wore it with pride on Saturday night, but did have to apologise to the gentlemen either side of me on the night bus home as I very much invaded their personal space with my oversized shoulders! Worth it though – I felt like an 80s power woman sprinkled with a good dose of glitz.
My advice? Get your girlfriends together after work on a Friday night. Head to the Vintazia fair. Get your hair styled, have a cheeky Pimms, pick up an outfit for the evening, then head back into London to model your beautiful vintage finds.

I am so jealous! They don’t have anything like that around here.
looks like the most fun ever! I’m gonna have to get all my girls together someday soon!
great pictures by the way!
If only I lived a bit nearer, sounds like my perfect evening out and an interesting change to sitting in fron tof the TV with a glass of wine.
Well done Sam keep up the good work .
