Can it really be? Another beautiful day?! If it’s raining I can only apologise; I’m writing these posts a few days in advance. So today there is glorious sunshine. The coffee is flowing, the tunes are pumping – life is beautiful!
Do you know what though? The sun has kind of crept up pretty unexpectedly. I think the phrase ‘April showers’ is feeling a little lonely right now. The only downside to not having April showers (I’m not even sure why I’m trying to find one but there you go) is the fact that I HAVE NO SUMMER CLOTHES! So when the sun shines like this, I sheepishly bumble around my garden or exit the private house territory as surreptitiously as possible in the hopes nobody will pick up on my slightly awkward, mismatched outfit. Somehow a lot of last season’s clothes just aren’t cutting the mustard.
But, do not fear – there is a solution my dear ethical fashionistas! Ethical accessories are here to save the day. Take a drab outfit, sprinkle some ethical accessories fairy dust and Bob’s your uncle, Fanny’s your aunt – a fresh outfit that works. A round of applause please!
My latest ethical accessories crush is on a label called Lumoi, set up by ethical jewellery designer Louise Hall. It’s always exciting to find a label who have used their initiative to try and do something truly original. Louise Hall is a lady who has done just that. Lumoi.com is an ethical jewellery company who do all they can to protect our environment while supplying beautiful jewellery designs responsibly. The reason I have jewellery crush is because of their jewellery recycling service. Set up to prevent broken and unwanted jewellery ending up in landfill, you send them your old, broken jewellery and in return you receive a voucher to spend on a new piece from their gorgeous collection. What I love about this is that you get to see real sustainability happening right before your eyes; you get to be a part of the process. Genius.
